“As an essential part of learning, we’re proud to offer these nutritious meals to all children who walk through our doors this summer,” said Superintendent Ben Small. “We know this is a tremendous community need, based on the number of free and reduced-price meals served in CVSD schools during the school year.”
CVSD launched the Summer Nutrition Program in 2004. Over the past nine summers, the program has served approximately 37,876 free meals to children. The program is funded through a reimbursement from the U.S. Dept of Agriculture and is sponsored by CVSD at no cost to the district.
